1978 Volkswagen Type 2

This 1978 Westfalia is in excellent mechanical condition. Garage kept, no rust I have worked hard to keep it as original as possible. I bought it in 2014 in Charlotte NC. My family has gone camping in it and it has been a big hit at car shows winning over 25 awards. Clutch was replaced in 2017 and the engine was removed and rebuilt in 2021. Still fuel injected. In 2022 I added an external oil cooler to keep oil cool in hot weather. Interior is clean and original. Includes, table, small table for the drivers area and the Childs canvas cot. Front seats were replaced with new seats in the original fabric from Go Westy. I have a box of extra parts, winter insulating panels for tent and windows, even have tire chains all included. Also have original front window curtains. Canvas tent replaced and no holes. Repainted engine compartment when engine was out. Two batteries with switch to house battery when engine is off. New water pump for sink. Stove worked when I bought it but removed the propane tank to satisfy the insurance company. I never cooked in the camper. This is not a deluxe version. The stove was added from another 78 westfalia by previous owner. No refrigerator just an ice box. All service done by an air cooled professional mechanic at Mark1 VW Service in Walkersville MD. I have all records of repairs back to the previous owner. I have enjoyed this camper and would like to sell to someone who will be a good custodian of this piece of history and maintain it in original condition.
