Rarity
Check your Popular Mechanics or Motor Trend magazine from the 50’s and 60’s and you’ll find ads for the EMPI kit to build in your garage. Wow! Everyone in the VW world knows EMPI as a supplier of quality aftermarket race parts. That’s still going on today but EMPI started out as one of the original converters of Volkswagens into what came to be known as Dune Buggies, building kits and cars years before Bruce Meyers came up with the Manx.
Exterior
The paint is shiny but not a high quality new car job. There are some flaws noticeable upon close inspection. Please review the video and see the photos. Folding windscreen with latches. Oak trim finished in Marine Spar varnish for long outdoor life. Nice chrome roll bar and accents. This is a solid steel body with that one of a kind EMPI look. These steel bodied EMPIs are tough with fenders that will easily support a man’s weight and a frame and body that can take the bumps and grinds that shatters fiberglass.
Interior
Beachy plush with an interior you can hose or vacuum out easily. Comfortable Volkswagen seats with seat belts. Storage behind the seats.
Floors

Engine
Great running 67 1500cc engine. Supertrap muffler and tube headers give it a great sound. Fresh service. Starts right up and drives great every time. Clean with nice detail work.
Transmission
4 speed manual transmission. Bus gear reduction transaxle provides great ground clearance and lots of torque

Fresh service, turnkey and ready to go.
Trim
