The Beetle is a two door, rear engine economy car designed by Volkswagen to accommodate 5 people. The Type 1 was sold from 1938 until 2003 with primary changes being the engine displacement over the years. The first cabriolet was introduced in 1949 and was much more than just a Beetle with a folding top. Door sills were reinforced with u-channel rails, a transverse beam was fitted below the front edge of the rear seat and the side cowl panels were double walled. The cabriolet top was designed and installed by Karmann and boasts a full inner headliner, insulation between the top and headliner and a glass rear window. The cabriolet was continuously updated throughout its life span which ended in 1979. There were no changes between the 78 and 79 model years. This particular example is equipped with its original fuel injected 1600cc engine that still runs like a top and it was optioned with air conditioning. It is triple white, retains its original paint and currently shows just 17,992 miles which is believed to be accurate. It is completely original with the exception of a professionally installed sound system that will make the hair on your neck stand at attention. It boasts a top of the line Kenwood Bluetooth stereo, an Arc Audio XDi 1200.6 amp, Alumapro speakers and dual dry cell batteries with an isolator. There are 6.5” component speakers in a custom kick panel up front, 6X9’s under the rear seat and two 12 inch subs behind the rear seat. It has lived a pampered life and has been serviced regularly. Everything works as it should and the only thing it is in need of is a new home. If you would like that home to be yours you better pick up the phone before it is too late as this one is sure to sell quickly at the price we are asking! SOLD
