1973 Triumph TR6 - Ready to drive and show.
A classic and unique “Black & Tan” beauty with factory overdrive!
I’ve been a Triumph enthusiast for a long time, but I now need to sell my beautiful 1973 TR6, which is in excellent drive and show condition. This original, matching numbers TR6 with only 54,000 miles, has always been garaged and meticulously cared for…..it’s in outstanding mechanical and cosmetic condition. Impeccably clean, rock solid, rust free throughout, all body panels are straight, undamaged, and free of any dents or dings. It’s a Southern car that never fell into a state of disrepair, and over the years was kept in very good shape in appearance as well as mechanically.
In fact, over $12,000 in improvements (all receipts provided) have been made in just the last 2 ½ years! There’s less than 1000 miles on its professionally and completely rebuilt engine. Included, was a complete professional rebuild and tuning of the carburetors, followed by the installation of all new clutch components. Practically everything under the hood is new or refurbished, and the engine compartment is totally clean and detailed to show standards. Just completed a thorough tune-up with all new ignition components along with fresh fluids too. A professionally-applied, basecoat/clearcoat finish, the classic Tuxedo Black body retains its super smooth, deep and glossy appearance, and is highlighted by beautiful chrome wire wheels wrapped with new Bridgestone radials. The bumpers, tail light housings and gas cap are show-quality chrome, and other brightwork trim has been replaced or remains in great shape. All rubber body seals and weatherstripping throughout are in perfect condition. The interior is just as nice…..seats, panels, carpet, visors, dash and all vinyl trim, along with the wood dash fascia, are in excellent condition….no cracks, rips, holes, etc. All gauges and lights work as they should, but the Kenwood stereo is inoperable. The convertible top is less than 2 years old and is in perfect shape. The trunk has also been fully restored, and holds a very nice Goodyear radial spare tire on a painted wire wheel.
And, it drives as good as it looks. As you’d expect from a freshly rebuilt engine, it starts easily, idles smoothly, has great compression, oil pressure and temps, and simply runs strong and reliably. Of course, the factory overdrive option adds a very desirable dimension to the TR6 driving experience. All systems like brakes, suspension, drive train, exhaust have been properly maintained or restored. Transmission shifts smoothly, she handles and brakes very well…it is truly a pleasure to drive!
Some much-appreciated upgrades include electronic ignition, spin-on oil filter adapter, hood insulation liner, boxed differential mount, and stainless steel exhaust system. Comes with top boot, the correct rubber Triumph floor mats, and a folder full of receipts documenting all the significant parts, repairs, and maintenance investments in recent years.
If you’re looking for a very clean, show-ready, super straight, solid and reliable TR6 that’s been regularly driven and expertly maintained, please check out this one.
