The Spitfire has style, performance and is economical. It also has impeccable road manners which come from the proud traditions of the Triumph sports car, a pedigree which assures you of technical excellence and reliability. The Triumph Spitfire 1500 is a true sports car with a 1,493 cc engine that can take you up to the 100 mph mark, while the optional overdrive is reported to allow 50 mpg. Standard features include an all-around independent suspension, positive and accurate rack-and-pinion steering, a front anti-roll bar, 9-inch disc brakes in the front and the drums on the rear. You will also find contoured seats with headrests that are faced in a Houndstooth patterned brushed-nylon fabric, walnut veneer fascia on the dashboard, pile carpet, a center armrest, cigar lighter, padded steering wheel and a two-speed electric windshield wiper. Factory options on this car include the factory overdrive, a luggage rack and she is Topaz in color. This is a completely numbers matching, untouched barn find with 77,258 original miles. The only thing we needed to do to get it running was to replace the fuel pump, all of the gas lines and add a new fuel filter. We also gave it a complete tune up and she runs great. In fact the only problem she has is that the wipers will not shut off so we pulled the fuse. The under carriage is surprisingly clean with only minor surface rust and absolutely no holes or soft spots. The body has a few dings and scratches but it still retains its original paint. There is some concrete that is stuck to the lower rear of the front right fender as well as the right rocker and door that we were afraid might further damage the car if we removed it so we left it as we are not planning to paint the car. The lower seat cushions have started to separate and the top has a couple of holes that we patched up. With the exception of the exterior mirrors and the stereo this car is completely original and would make a great restoration project or would also be perfect as a daily driver. We would classify this as an average value car but have priced it as a low value car for a quick sale! For more pictures and a video of the engine running visit www.HotRodsChoppers.com. SOLD
