Out of 1534 Shelby GT-500 sport roofs produced this rare super cobra jet shelby gt-500 is one of only 66 produced in 1969 with the $155.45 high performance drag pack option. (For 1969/ 1970 combined a mere 170 were built.)

This Shelby was parked in 1976 by the original owner and sat for 36 years, as documented in the registry and the Jan and April 2013 Mustang Monthly under rare finds. Now after a 3 year total restoration with a very high % of original and nos parts she’s back on the road and in her original glory. This highly documented car has all its original numbers matching engine and drive train. The fully rebuilt and balanced R code 428 scj is extremely strong backed by a smooth shifting close ratio four speed transmission and 3.91 drag pack gears with nodular traction–loc differential. With 46,000 original miles the interior still looks like new. It was recently painted its original colour of grabber blue,with the old style acrylic enamel paint, and looks flawless with its perfect fiberglass hood ,fenders and trunk. Comes with numerous documents including marti report, and has the glove box signed by Carroll Shelby.

This Shelby is appraised at 200,000 by the Shelby America Club as of Feb 2014
