The AC Cobra, sold as the Shelby Cobra in the United States, is an American sports car with a Ford V8 engine that was produced intermittently in both the UK and the United States since 1962. This particular example has a chassis and body by CMC, was built by Collet’s Automotive out of Morton, IL in 2000 and has a total of 11,933 miles on it since its completion. The heart of this wicked beast is a 375 + hp 351 Cleveland V8 that was performance built at the same time the car was and was bored .030 over, has a balanced rotating assembly, Keith Black flat top pistons with 9.5 to 1 compression, ported and matched heads, a Speed-Pro cam, a Melling oil pump and ARP rod bolts, head studs and intake bolts. It is fed via a 600cfm Edelbrock Performer carb that sits atop a Weiand X-CELerator high rise intake, it is sparked by a Mallory ignition, it has MSD plug wires and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its performance headers and side exhaust. It has a performance built C6 transmission, a Dana posi rear end with 3:73 gears, 4 wheel power disc brakes with stainless lines that are only a couple of years old, coil over rear shocks, a Mustang II front end and American Racing rims with knock offs. The interior is gorgeous with its teak wood dash, steering wheel and shift handle and black leather seats look great with the red piping. The 2nd owner purchased it in 2013 with just over 10,000 miles and installed new shocks, front springs, up-per control arms, spindles and bearings to accommodate larger 11” rotors. He also upgraded the brakes to power brakes which required extensive custom work given the small amount of space there was to work with. Included with your purchase will be a new soft top and tonneau cover which have never been installed. This beauty has pampered since it was built and is in perfect condition. If you could see this sweet ride sitting in your garage don’t wait until it is too late to call! For more pictures and a video of the engine please visit HotRodsChoppers.com SOLD
