For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, finest grade examples of collectible automobiles. This black on cashmere 968 is one of those examples!
The Porsche 968 was the final evolution of a series of water-cooled front-engine rear wheel drive models, that begun almost 20 years earlier. It was Porsche's last new front-engined vehicle before the introduction of the Cayenne SUV in 2003.
Like its predecessor, the 968 was offered in coupe and convertible body styles. The 968 was powered by an updated version of the 944's Inline-four engine, now displacing 3.0 L and rated at 240 PS at 6,200 rpm. Modifications to the engine include a higher 11.0:1 compression ratio, lighter crankshaft, crankcase and pistons along with revised intake valves and intake manifold. Changes to the 968's powertrain also included the addition of Porsche's then-new VarioCam variable valve timing system, newly optimized induction and exhaust systems, a dual-mass flywheel, and updated engine management electronics. The 968's engine was the fourth-largest four-cylinder engine ever offered in a production car at that time.

This is a time capsule 968, driven with care and serviced regularly. Owned by a veteran Porsche afficionado, this 968 enjoyed professional care throughout its life.
Finished in black over cashmere leather seats. There were only 37 cars in this color combination produced. The body still carries its original Porsche black (A1) factory paint on all panels.
The condition of the paint is remarkable and the car is always stored under a cover in the garage. All body gaps and shut lines are excellent. Obviously this 968 has never been in an accident and has zero corrosion issues whatsoever.
The cashmere leather interior is completely original as well and in fantastic condition.
The Convertible Top is without rips or tears and closes tightly with no excessive wind noises.
Mechanically, this 968 is fully sorted with no needs. It runs, drives, shifts and brakes just like it should. The car feels tight, pulls strong though all the gears of the 4 speed Tiptronic transmission and you can tell, this is a well maintained, low mile original survivor Porsche. And the big bore 3.0l four cylinder makes a wonderful, throaty sound when challenged. Great fun! The car sits on correct Porsche rims with almost new Michelin tires, has a fresh oil service and is ready to be enjoyed.
This 968 comes with a complete factory tool kit, air compressor, jack and spare which has never been on the ground. Additionally, there is a fitted full cover, a tonneau cover and mirror covers with the car! Original owner’s manual and service book as well as custom license plates included.
