The Firebird was produced by Pontiac from 1967 – 2002. It was designed as a pony car to compete with the Mustang. The 2nd generation Firebirds were introduced in 1970 and continued through 1981. In the final year of the 2nd generation Trans Am the only change was the addition of a new electronic carburetion system. This particular example was optioned with the 4.9L V8 with an electronic carb and Brown Metallic paint. With the automatic transmission and 3:08 gear you can cruise on the highway all day in this beauty. Other factory options include the tinted glass, front and rear wheel spoilers, A/C (currently disconnected), a trunk spoiler, the rear stabilizer bar, the air injection system, a formula steering wheel, tilt steering, gold cast aluminum wheels, the shaker hood and of course the gold graphics and emblems. This car was brought to IL in 2017 from Georgia and is rust free. It now has a Pontiac 400ci V8 engine that was rebuilt 5 years ago before it was installed and it runs like a top. Within the last year it has received new tires, slotted and drilled front rotors, new performance front brake pads, new performance brake drums and shoes, a new master cylinder, new heavy duty shocks, a new battery, new plugs, MSD plug wires, a MSD ignition (coil & rotor), new belts and new hoses. It is completely original with the exception of the Bluetooth stereo and upgraded speakers. Considering its excellent condition we would rank this as a strong #2 car and would appraise it at $36,245. We know it is a buyer’s market and have priced it accordingly so if you could see yourself cruising in this classic you better call us before its too late! SOLD SOLD
