The GTO is considered by most to be the first true American muscle car with the introduction of the 1964 LeMans with the optional GTO package. From 66 – 72 it was its own model and 1970 was the first year of the HO 455 ci V8. This particular example was Canadian born on 09/29/1969 and was optioned with the L75 455 ci V8, T400 tranny and a posi rear end with 3:31 gears. It was restored in 2005 at which time the color was changed from Verdoro Green to Carousel Red, the interior was changed form Sandalwood to Black and it was cloned to look like a Judge with the proper markings. The restoration has held up incredibly well which is the result of a quality restoration in addition to the fact that the car has only been driven 1,648 miles since it was completed. During the restoration the date code correct 455 ci engine was performance built and is estimated to put out well over 500 hp. The big block is cooled by a Be Cool aluminum radiator with dual fans, it is sparked with a MSD ignition and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its correct exhaust manifolds and Xlerator performance exhaust. The suspension was upgraded with a Hotchkis Sport Tuned Suspension which has really tightened up the ride and it also has Auto Meter gauges so you know exactly what’s going on at all times. We would consider this to be an above average car and would conservatively appraise it at $42,960.00 as standard GTO. We know it is a buyer’s market and we have priced the car accordingly so if you could see yourself cruising the boulevard in this timeless classic you better pick up the phone before someone else does!
