This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am is powered by its rebuilt 454 CID V8 engine, backed by a Turbo 475 3-speed automatic transmission, and running to positraction rear end. With only 1,500 miles on the rebuild, there are plenty of years left of enjoyment behind the wheel of this Trans Am. The 454 Big block Chevy under the hood is outfitted with an Edelbrock Performer 2-O aluminum intake, rebuilt Holley 800 CFM double pumper carburetor, Comp Cams Thumper camshaft, high volume mechanical fuel pump, dual roller timing chain set, new HEI Distributor, and a Milodon high volume oil pump. The upgrades under the hood don't stop there and include: a Chrome 100 amp alternator, new MSD Digital 6A Ignition system, new Taylor Hi-Pro spark plug wires, 4 Core Radiator, aluminum Vacuum Canister, and a new battery. Some other items recently addressed on this sweet '79 Trans Am include: New engine and transmission mounts, rebuilt front and rear suspension, new polyurethane bushings throughout, new radiator and hoses, new A/C compressor running R-134A, new brakes and calipers, complete exhaust, and new fuel lines, electric fuel pump, and filters. The body is a nice driver quality, with black paint and the classic Gold Trans Am Firebird on the hood made popular by Smokey and The Bandit. Take off the T-tops on a nice day and you will feel like you were thrown back a few decades in time. The lines and stance of this 1979 Trans Am really give this car a muscular presence. Work your way into the interior and you'll find a recently installed tan vinyl interior with front bucket seats and a center console.
