STUNNING THOROUGHLY DOCUMENTED 1968 FIREBIRD 400 CONVERTIBLE!
Every now & then you come across a special yet RARE Muscle car.
This would be one of those times!
This beautiful Flambeau Burgundy 1968 Pontiac 400 rag top has to be seen & driven to really be appreciated.
It sets itself apart from most of the others right out of the gate!
The factory color of this classic bird is gorgeous and yet somewhat hard to describe in essence without looking at it personally.
It is one of the most sought after colors by true 1st generation Firebird enthusiast because of its rarity and beauty!
It is somewhat burgundy in direct light yet almost purple/black at dusk.
This particular Firebird has only been repainted once {outside of the original covering}.
The base clear method was applied to paint this wonderful little Pontiac the second time around and the outcome was phenomenal!
The paint is very shinny and really demands attention every time she hits the open road!
The body is laser straight as well. This is not your typical lipstick on a pig Macco covered bondo rocket. This Muscle car is a true factory sheet metal car. There doesn’t seem to be any patch panels welded on this one at all!
No waves, dents, or excessive paint chips to speak of either.
The interior is another great point to discuss regarding this classic bird!
Sound deadener was applied before the new cut pile carpet was laid {no excessive noise in the cockpit} quiet & comfortable!
The seat buns, seat covers, door panels, door handles, window cranks, arm rests, ash trays, interior emblems, seat belts and almost every other interior component has been replaced!
The interior is in MINT condition!
The dash is in excellent shape and none of the windows are damaged, chipped, or broken.
The convertible top has been replaced and it is in superior condition as well.
The factory PMD wheels have been completely refurbished and the center caps/beauty rings look new.
The wide track performance BFG white letter radial T/A’s are in like new condition.
There is a litany of documents, factory manuals, and a few photos dating back to the early 1970’s for authenticity and value!
Pontiac PHS documents are included along with the original build history {TRUE FLAMBEAU BURGUNDY/BLACK INTERIOR/BLACK TOP CAR}!
The power plant in this jewel is simply breath taking! This 400 is plenty powerful and really makes you look forward to pulling the car out of the garage every sunny Sunday!
The intake was sent off to be chromed/aluminum then ported & polished {plenty of horsepower}!
The flame thrower coil and Ludant performance pack really provide excellent spark and quick response {no hard starts}!
Chrome is more than in abundant supply under the hood as well!
The valve covers, alternator, oil cap, radiator cap, fan pulley, hood hinges, hood arms etc… are all brilliantly covered in chrome! The factory Ram Air ducts on the hood were even taken off and sent out to be chromed!
The 350 Turbo Transmission pulls hard & is very strong! It has just been completely gone through.
It had several leaking seals which were all replaced {receipts included}.
The rocker panel moldings, front & rear bumpers, exterior emblems, and front head lights are all new!
This Firebird 400 is equipped with hedders that breathe freely through a chambered exhaust system & Flowmaster mufflers!
The rumble of this one warns that a Muscle car has come out to play!
