As we own several antique cars we've made the tough decision to sell this '57 Pontiac Chieftain left to me after his passing last fall. It's a super solid CA restored '57 Pontiac Chieftain. All the chrome/brightwork gleams nicely. The Starchief blister chrome was added to the quarters. The Black exterior is very well done-------a strong 8 out of 10 for quality in 2-stage base/clear. Upgrades include the original 347 engine was tired and a Pontiac car club member offered his built '58 Pontiac 370 engine. Except for the most discerning Poncho fan, everything on the car appears to be stock-original. The spinner hubcaps were an upgrade. The infamous "drop-shoulder" interior was reproduced similarly in velour and has a slight fade to grey which nicely matches the interior. The lighted fender ornaments that were normally reserved for Starchief and Bonneville was added to this car and work correctly and look incredible. No drooping headliner, worn carpet, or bolster wear. The car is solid, starts easily and rides out very nicely. It was recently chosen to be the wedding car of choice from the Battlefield AACA a month ago (see photos attached at night). Automatic Transmission. The original '57 Pontiac steering wheel was pretty aged/ cracked and decrepid so it now has the gray-colored '58 Pontiac steering wheel from the same club member who had the engine. It's a perfect match to the interior. All the lighting works as it should. Radio fades in and out. I'm convinced its something simple like a good ground etc. The car is in Franklin, TN. As you consider really exceptional '57 Pontiacs, they tend to be very needy for the costly chrome and hard to find non-pitted parts etc. This comes with some interesting literature from the original buyer (notes and copy of the check for it in 1957 etc.). There are a few misc. parts that are included. Fender skirts were a novelty for the CA owner, but have since been removed/sold in favor of the more classic look. Asking $39k obo. Knowing my Father as I did (retired GM Wheel, GMI Grad, Engineer etc.), I'd drive this car anywhere just as you see it. These present in colors that seemingly run the spectrum, but a super clean straight black sedan is tough to find. Only known issue is the fuel gauge is inaccurate. He recorded the mileage with every trip and filled up after every car club event. No trades.
