As tribute to early-sixties Pontiac drag racing, this 1963 Catalina has the looks and the hardware to compete with the priceless factory-backed Super Duties at a regular guy price. Power comes from a 428 with a complete Butler Performance rotating assembly with I-beam rods, flat top pistons and a forged crankshaft. A Competition Cams 294 duration hydraulic bumpstick sends orders to roller rockers within a set of Edelbrock aluminum 75 cc heads. The air fuel mixture is introduced through a pair of Carter 600 carbs mated to a vintage Offenhauser dual quad manifold and topped off with correct '56 Corvette finned aluminum air cleaners. Spent gasses are ushered into Al Gore's atmosphere via correct long branch manifolds. Sitting behind the engine is a Muncie M-21 four-speed with correct Hurst shifter. The Pontiac rear end has all new brakes and bearings and houses a set of 4.10:1 gears. Pop the trunk and you'll find a 12 gallon fuel cell and a trunk mounted battery. Torque thrust front wheels with black steelies and era appropriate drag strip paint give this Poncho the right look and the radio/heater delete interior is all new. This Super Duty tribute was built to be shown, raced, driven and enjoyed. Don't keep it waiting. SOLD
