The Plymouth Valiant was manufactured by the Chrysler Corporation from 1960 – 1976. It gave the company an entry into the compact market emerging in the late 50’s and is known for its durability and reliability. It was completely redesigned in 1963 with a shorter wheelbase, a wide flat hood and a flat square rear deck. In 1964 additional changes were made giving it better fuel economy, reliability and performance. This particular example was optioned with the premium Signet 200 package, a power top, the 225 ci 6 cylinder engine and the Torqueflite 3 speed automatic transmission with push button controls. The 3rd owner purchased it in 1986 at which time it was in the Denver area and had just less than 100,000 miles. In the early 90’s it was repainted in its original color of Ruby, the engine was replaced with a rebuilt 225 ci from a 1982 Chrysler Cordoba and the upholstery was redone. At the same time the odometer was reset to zero and it currently shows 30,938 miles which is the actual mileage on the engine, paint and interior. The current owner purchased it 11 years ago and has maintained it meticulously since. Everything is in proper working order and we would appraise this as a solid # 2 car which has a value of $11,575.00. We know the market is soft and have priced this car accordingly.
