This 1949 Packard Eight is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. The Packard began its life in the early 1890's when Ward Packard first got the idea to build a motor car. In 1903 the Packard Motor Car Company was formed. By 1909 Packard was one of the major automobile manufactures in America. Retaining the award-winning styling of the previous year's models, 1949 Packard’s were available in Standard, Super and Custom trim levels. Packard’s in the Super series were powered by a 327-cubic inch straight-eight engine that produced 150 horsepower, making them ideal long-distance tow vehicles. The paint on this beautiful black car is in very good condition. The big chrome bumpers are nice and shiny with only the grill showing small signs of pitting. On the inside, the Gray Cloth interior still looks new. This old Packard Eight starts right up and shifts easy. While the brakes are manual, the car stops fine, just remember to give yourself a little extra following distance. Of course, this is the case with any of the older classics still sporting their original equipment. The gauges in the dash appear to be in good working order. Options for include this 1949 Packard Eight; Cloth Interior, heater/window defrost, cigarette lighter, manual brakes, Hub Caps and Beauty Rings.
