When Harley updated the touring line up in 2014 the Road Glide wasn’t ready for release so it was not released until 2015. The Road Glide Special has been equipped with Reflex Linked Brakes with ABS, the Boom! Box 6.5GT infotainment system which features a touch screen and GPS, in addition to the H-D Smart Security System with proximity based key fob. We purchased this bike in the fall of 2016 with 479 miles on it and completely rebuilt it from the ground up. It is now a completely custom dual fat tire bike with matching 18” rims front and rear with 180 mm tires front and rear that was designed by Sterling Motors and built by Fortune Cycle. The fat tire conversion is from Hawg Halters and is the reason we have named the bike “Fat Glide”. The next thing we did was tear down the stock 103” engine and upgraded it with a list of Screamin’ Eagle parts which include their CNC head, 10.5:1 pistons, SE259 cams, performance push rods, a 58mm throttle body and both the cylinders and heads were diamond cut. Also worth noting, the stock horns were replaced with a cooling fan and there is now an air horn under the side cover that is very loud. It runs out incredibly and sounds just plain nasty with its gorgeous Cult 45 exhaust from Bagger Nation who also provided the Wail Tail Tour Pak. The High Caliber body kit from Ballistic Cycles includes their saddle bags, side covers, rear fender, tank covers, dash and chin spoiler. It has an incredibly long list of parts from Performance Machine which we won’t bore you with but you will notice all the upgrades in the pix. The sound system boasts a custom wire harness with quick disconnects from American Hardbags, Speed by Design Twisted 8 saddle bag lids and a long list of Hertz products which includes a set of SV200L’s and ST35’s in the saddle bag lids, SV165.1’s and ST35’s in the fairing and a HDP4 amp mounted in the left saddle bag powering it all. The sound is not only insanely loud but it is also extremely clean. You will also notice that it has instant front and rear air ride with an electric center stand and the Dakota Digital gauges have been upgraded to display both the front and rear air pressure readings. It has Azzkikr’s 10” Gorilla bars with contrast cut crown tips and the custom one of a kind seat and back rest are compliments of Auto Images in Clinton, IA. The most noticeable feature on the bike is the breath taking paint job by Paul Boeckman. Paul relocated the rear license plate, frenched lights into the rear spoiler and frenched the Dirty Bird windshield into the fairing.
