1986 Other H-D FLTC our Glide Classic w/ FXRP Sidecar
The FLT was first released in 1980 and was known for offering two firsts for Harley. The first being that the fairing is mounted to the frame instead of the forks and the second being that it was the first V-Twin to be mounted with rubber blocks. The FLT also offered a larger frame than the FLH. To help it handle better the forks were mounted behind the steering head and the frame was recessed behind it allowing the steering to lock. The current owner was in Sturgis in 2004 when he saw this bike with a sidecar attached to it and had to have one. In 2005 he bought this bike from the original owner and began the search for a 1986 H-D sidecar. In July of 2007 he finally found a 1986 H-D FXRP and could not buy it quick enough. In 2008 he had it professionally painted to match his bike at which time the forks were raked with an “EZ-Steer” from Champion Sidecars which make this bike considerably easier to steer. Between the purchase of the sidecar, having it painted and having the EZ-Steer installed over $9,000 was spent to make this happen. It has been regularly serviced and comes with a stack of receipts. The current owner bought a new Road Glide in 2018. He was planning to keep both but just doesn’t ride this anymore and has decided it is time to find a new home for her. We have priced this sweet set-up aggressively so if you like what you see you best reach out before someone else does!
