The Softail was designed by Harley Davidson in the early 80’s to look like a vintage hardtail with the benefit of a rear suspension by using a triangular swingarm that enabled them to hide the shocks under the frame. The FXST was the first Softail which H-D released as a 1984 model. During the same year they also debuted the 1340cc EVO on the Softail and 5 other models. The EVO boasted better material and improved mechanics which enabled the engine to run cleaner, cooler, and leakage was significantly reduced. In 1986 H-D released the FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic which sported a 1950’s inspired classic, retro look. Its bold styling and clever engineering made it a fan favorite and is undoubtedly why it is still available today. This particular example was repainted in its original color of Bright Red Voyage Metallic about 7 or 8 years ago and it still shows great. At the same time is was nicely upgraded with a list of chrome H-D parts which include the rear pulley, both belt guards, covers for both master cylinders, switch housing covers and levers. It also has a low profile matching passenger pillion, a matching set of ISO grips and pegs as well as the original studded leather saddle bags. The engine is stock but it was rebuilt at around 30,000 miles at which time it was upgraded with a Screamin’ Eagle intake and it sounds awesome ripping through its Screamin’ Eagle staggered fishtail exhaust which was added at the same time. It was serviced last year and has been ridden maybe 1,000 miles since. It received a new front tire and battery at the same time. Everything is working as it should and she is an absolute pleasure to look at. If you have been looking for a heritage with an EVO you will be hard pressed to find a nicer one for less money. If you agree reach out so we can make her yours! SOLD
