For sale is a completely refurbished 1981 Gazelle (1929 Mercedes Benz SSK roadster replica mounted on a Ford Pinto chassis with a 2.0 engine and an automatic transmission). The original mileage is 20,450 but only about 500 of this is after rebuild/ restoration.
A more than $17 k restoration on this fun car includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Complete new interior (incl. side, door & kick panels, upholstery and carpet), complete new wiring harness, new bumpers, running lights, fog lights, windshield & frame Engine rebuild includes an nos carburetor, battery, gas gauge and sending unit, shocks, solenoid, voltage regulator, brakes, ignition module, alternator, head lights, distributor cap & wires, muffler, belts. The car has 5 new tires, tonneau cover, and much more. Included in the sale are the original assembly and owner’s manual, complete wiring schematic both for the Gazelle conversion and the 1973 Pinto, all receipts for work and parts and a box of extra parts. The only problem I am aware of is the tachometer, which does not work but as the car has an automatic transmission it is not essential.
This is an amazingly fun and attention getting car to tool around in during the summer and the only reason I am selling is my age and health. I will gladly answer any questions to the best of my ability, so don’t hesitate to ask. Will help arrange transportation if needed. This car is also available locally so I reserve the right to end this sale early.
