HOW MANY 1940 OLDSMOBLE COUPES HAVE YOU SEEN? They are far and few between! This one has a good body, nice paint, good interior, its powered by a 350 Chevrolet engine, connected with a 10 bolt rear end, it runs and drives great in my opinion.
HOW IS THE BODY? I see no rust bubbles in the paint, The frame and floors look very solid.
HOW IS THE PAINT? I consider the paint nice! The silver and black look good together. The paint is slick, the body looks real straight down the sides to my eyes, it has a very good shine. I see no dents or dings, I do see 3 or 4 touched up chips.
HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Good leather seats, door panels are vinyl and good, head liner very nice.
HOW IS THE ENGINE? Past owner said it was a 350 Chevrolet, it looks to be correct. I hear no knocks or rattles in it and see no blue smoke. It still has the factory 4 barrel Rochester carburetor.
HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a good shifting Turbo 350, 3 speed automatic.
WHAT IS THE REAR-END? Its a 10 bolt GM with highway gearing.
WHAT IS THE SUSPENTION? Stock front end, and rear.
HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK!
BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! GAS GUAGE WORK!
SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING, I will check it out and see if I can fix it.
NOTE: The car has the inside AC/Heat parts, they look new, but no engine area parts.
HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? To me it drive good, it handles good on the highway, no power steering so its heavy parking.
HOW ARE THE BRAKES? Brakes are OK, but are 4 wheel drums and power assisted.
HOW ARE THE WHEELS? Nice 18 inch Boss wheels.
