FRESH RESTORATION OF A REAL DOCUMENTED 442 CONVERTIBLE
For the 1968 Model Year, The Oldsmobile 442 (400 CI, 4 Barrel Carburetion, 2 Exhaust Pipes) Was Upgraded From A Simple Options Package To Its Own Separate Model. The Model Is Denoted By VINs That Start With The Digits '344'.
It Was Originally Written "4-4-2", But By 1968 Badging Was Shortened To Simply "442", But Oldsmobile Brochures And Internal Documents Continued To Use The "4-4-2" Model Designation.
1968 Was The First Year For Side Marker Lights And Front Outboard Shoulder Belts, And The Last Year For Vent Windows On Hardtops And Convertibles. 4-4-2s For '68 Had Unique Rear Bumpers, With Exhaust Cutouts And Special Exhaust Tips.
Only 5,142 Convertible 442's Were Made For The 1968 Model Year.

Dual Master Cylinder, Four-Way Flashers, Energy-Absorbing Steering Column, Padded Dash, Back-Up Lights,.
