This 1959 Met now has a 289 Cubic inch v-8, with a matching C-4 automatic transmission and a 10-inch differential to handle the extra torque. “He” (Doozer) has a purple paint job with a bronze rally stripe down the center which contains mild pearlescent flames. The tires are wide (yes, it reduces the turning radius). The front end now has tubular framing and front disc brakes as well. He is a fun little fellow. He has some minor problems like the passenger door doesn’t like to open – needs a new lock, the flywheel sticks a couple of seconds when starting, and the guy is a bit tough to start after sitting more than three days with running due a vacuum leak that causes the fuel line to slowly drain back into the tank – all minor and fun for anybody that want to do some minor fixing.
