Presenting an original ’52 Monterey. This was the first year the Monterey was offered as a convertible. The sheet metal, floors and frame are all in great condition. Solid from top to bottom. This particular car was displayed in a museum for several years before being treated to a mechanical refresh. Under the hood is a 255 CI Mercury flathead V8, combined with a Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. This car has a in-dash clock and push button radio, chrome windshield frame and beltline trim, and both front and rear guards. On the outside are front driving lights, classic full size wheel covers, ad wide whitewall tires. Lakewood Green Paint with a Green Top. Boot green leather interior and white inserts, Aircraft-style lever controls for the heater/defroster and ventilation controls. 110 MPH speedometer, temperature, fuel, oil, and battery gages all located in the dash.
The new model Monterey was part of Ford's company-wide redesign project. The Monterey became its own model in 1952, one year after its initial introduction. It was produced with a taller and more squared shape than the 1949-51 Ford and Mercury models. This was the most expensive Monterey available in 1952, priced at $2,370. The Monterey’s tasteful styling features a full width front grille, quarter panel bright trim, and imitation front and body side intake grilles. SOLD
