1968 Mercury Monterey 

Up for sale is a VERY RARE 1968 Mercury Monterey 2 DR Fastback. We are the second owner of this great car. This vehicle is a PERFECT candidate for a rebuild. You will probably never see one of these cars on the road. We bought this car from the original owner and it was only driven around town and kept in a closed garage. We bought it in 2005 and it only had 11032 miles on it. We are fairly sure that is original miles. We put about 900 miles on the car and parked it in late 2005. It has been sitting under a carport since then and never started again. It ran BEAUTIFULLY when we parked it and will a little attention I am sure it will still run great.

There were only 15,145 of these cars produced in 1968 but not sure how many of them were fastback models. This car is equipped with a 390CID V8 2bbl. Factory A/C, power steering, power brakes (disc brakes in front), power front bench seat, power windows, power antenna, automatic 3 speed transmission, rear wheel drive. AM/FM stereo. There is a TON of room in this car as well as the trunk. Everything on this car worked flawlessly when we parked it. As you can see from the photos it has a dent in the rear bumper and a small rust spot on the driver side rear quarter panel. The trunk lid has lost some paint.
