’66 Comet Cyclone GT Convertible factory S-Code 390 (335 HP) -
This is a ZERO RUST survivor. Extremely straight inland California car still wearing its CA black plates. It has never been apart, never restored, never modified or abused in any way. Quite rare - only 2158 GT Convertibles built in ’66.
Features include: original S-Code 390 V8, C-6 automatic with floor shift, factory fiberglass hood, dealer Air Conditioning, original working dash top tachometer, power steering, power brakes, original Cyclone "chrome reverse" wheel covers, bucket seats, console, power top (with glass rear window and original top boot), side stripes, working stock Mercury AM radio, original Mercury keys, etc.
Recent work: restored the original Holley 4 barrel carburetor, fuel system flush, new fuel pump, master cylinder, new HD “Police spec” 4 wheel brake shoes, wheel cylinders and flex lines. Electrical system tested
and working fine (lights, power top, radio all work). Car runs very strong.
Factory color - Maroon Metallic with white and red interior and white top. Top appears to be the original and needs replacement. Paint is sun faded and should to be redone.
The best candidate imaginable for a very straightforward restoration, or simply paint and install a new top and drive it. An incredible unrestored survivor like this is nearly impossible to find, especially a rust free top-of-the-line GT convertible with the factory S-Code 390.
Located just south of Santa Barbara.
