The Mercury proved to be a huge success for the Ford Motor Company, and for 1955, there were more changes made that would ensure its future as a manufacturer. It was during this time that Ford established both Lincoln and Mercury as separate divisions in the Ford Motor Company. Completely re-designed for 1955, two series of Mercury cars began production, but a third was soon added. It was with the Custom, Monterey and Montclair series of vehicles that Mercury would complete its lineup of vehicles including both convertibles and station wagons.
This particular Mercury Custom Wagon has undergone a complete restoration. Under the hood is a V8 engine with dual exhaust, coupled with an automatic transmission. The exterior is finished in Red and White and embellished nicely with chrome trim, bumpers, and wide whitewall tires with chrome wheel covers. The interior sports three rows of seats that are finished in Red and White with a working push-button radio and heater. It cruises down the road just as good as it looks. It's in turn-key condition, ready to drive and show. SOLD
