This 1947 Mercury Coupe is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. This particular Mercury has had all the trim removed to give it more of a Ford Coupe than Mercury look. This ground up restoration was finished in a bright red paint scheme that gets this car noticed even when it’s sitting still. But let’s not caught up on just the good looks of this car! Lurking under the hood is a fresh (rebuilt) ’95 LT1 Corvette Engine. The engine cover pieces have been painted to match the color of the Coupe and the finned aluminum valve covers give it that cool classic hot rod look of the ‘50’s. Backing up the Vette engine is a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission allowing this car to easily cruise the highway or perform quick blasts from stop light to stop light, depending upon the situation at hand. Finishing out the Chevy drive train is a GM 10 bolt with a 3.55 gear ratio. A Fatman front/rear suspension has been added to give this Mercury coupe a much improved ride feel. Moving to the inside of this beautiful bright red street rod you will be met by the tan leather interior. Red inserts have been added to accent the red exterior. An Alpine AM/FM stereo with CD player has recently been added, just in case you get tired of the sweet sound of the mufflers purring from the stout LT1 engine. A Vintage Air AC system has been added, so not only do you look cool cruising down the boulevard, but you stay cool. A new dash has been color matched the exterior and filled VDO gauges to track of the critical engine functions. An Ididit Steering column has been added for good looks and control of the coupe. A Painless Wiring system takes care of the electrical needs of this custom ’47 Mercury Coupe. Both of the doors are on remote poppers, so getting into this is as easy as pushing a button on the remote.
