Last year of the 1950's hardtop station wagons and widely viewed as the best looking of the Mercury models, this original California car actually spent the younger part of its life at a Catholic parish rectory having been donated to the nuns by the original owner! Now it's worthy of being shown at the Peterson Museum or driving anywhere or both! It could be the classy, comfortable, reliable and vintage woody premier station wagon. It could be the ultimate surfer wagon. It could be the family fun day at the car show blue ribbon robber (and has been), and it could be the heavy-duty vintage camper utilitarian hauler. IT IS ALL OF THESE AND MORE! High end and top drawer with all factory available working options including original Lincoln 430 cubic inch V-8 power plant, A/T, P/S, P/B, P/W, A/C (working and COLD!), PDL, AM/FM and all systems fully functional including cigarette lighter (never used-ashtray never seen cigarettes) and clock (converted to quartz). Very rare and always garaged and excellently maintained and most of all loved. ABSOLUTELY NO EXPENSES SPARED, not to mention always winning top awards at car shows beating the plagues of the all too common '57 Chevys!

Wagon is well represented with a U-tube video courtesy of Dennis Cage at his "My Classic Car" website. Go to:

My classic car dot com/episode/18/

Once you are on episode 18 (2014 Episode), select first icon "Episode 1-Cruise Morrow Bay". BEFORE YOU CLICK THE PLAY BUTTON, move the blue high-lighted icon on the right of your screen from "EPISODE 1-PREVIEW" two tabs down to "EPISODE 1-FULL EPISODE". The 5 minute video of this wagon hosted by Mr. Cage plays roughly 3/4 through the episode.

Seller Notes:
"Restored exterior with recent first ever PRESTINE quality repaint with all woodwork like perimeter and laminate restored or replaced. Front and rear Merc emblems, grill, individual M E R C U R Y hood letters, both outside mirrors, wiper arms, tail light housings/trim, fender tip ornaments and antenna have been replaced with NOS (new old stock) parts. All other exterior bright works re-plated. Original engine and compartment are highly detailed. Interior is combination of very good original (as with any well cared for 81K car) and restored components/parts. Very little work needed to be interiorly excellent. The only two minor issues regarding this entire wagon are:

1) Windshield has very minor chip (may be repaired) but is also in reproduction with blue band green tint for $499 (Ebay item number 301848004667) plus shipping and installation.

2) Front seat shows minor wear needing upholstery work to be as nice as the rest of the interior. Purchase comes WITH PROVIDED original NOS vinyl yardage.

Recent repairs include new Coker wide whitewall radial tires, brakes, wheel cylinders, power brake booster, carburetor rebuild, transmission service, air-ride rear shocks and most recently a new A/C compressor, expansion valve, and R12 freon charge just in time for summer fun. Never wrecked. No rust whatsoever. No fillers. Runs and drives excellent and will take you and your family anywhere in classy complete Lincoln-like comfort and style. Strong as an ox!"

This is the top-of-the-line Mercury/Lincoln wagon with one of the best color combinations and all available working options. The Lincoln Navigator of its day, high retail on this rare wagon (only 7500 made) as equipped and in mint condition is $82K (Nada Price Guide, June 2017). If purchased here for the asking price and with an additional 3K invested, this wagon would easily be worth in excess of $65K! I'm too old to finish what very little is left and need to pass it on to a well worthy Mercury lover. Excellent investment let alone a fun, rare, reliable, show-worthy, vintage, time-capsule classic. $50,000/OBO.

Thanks for your interest here.
