Delivered to Frenso in 1962, the vehicle spent most of its life stored away in the dry Central California town. Shortly after the original owner passed in 2009, a local vintage Mercedes expert purchased the vehicle to re-commission it for regular use. His work on the vehicle has been documented and includes:
