Pedigree Motorcars is proud to offer this very special 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL. For details and information contact Ken Baker at 561-866-1601.
This 1988 example is the last generation for the classic 107 body Mercedes-Benz. These lead generation 560SL's are highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors. While most of these cars have high miles the example offered here has just 26,000 miles on it. This car has had only one owner. It is all original and has been lovingly maintained throughout its life.
This car is such a high level of quality it could be shown in a Mercedes-Benz museum. This example is for the connoisseur/enthusiast who wants and appreciates the very best. This 560SL will make the most discriminating collector proud.
Having been sold new in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, it remains there throughout its entire life. Car fax records verify this car has been very sparingly used. In fact, in 2005 it only had 600 less miles on it and it has today.
Everything on this Mercedes-Benz is all original. Only maintenance items have been changed. At the time of this writing everything in the car works, it works exactly as it should. This is a car that has no apologies, it drives and looks like new.
As with every one of our cars, this 560SL was thoroughly serviced and inspected in preparation for sale. The work we had performed included:
Change oil and filter
Replace third brake light bulb
Replace front brake pads, sensors, grease all friction points
Change transmission fluid
Replace shifter bushings
Replace rear hood pad
Replace windshield washer nozzles
Replace and adjust convertible top cable
Recharge air-conditioning system
Replace steering stabilizer
Perform front end alignment
Install for new Michelin tires
All of the items that we had performed were done because of the car sitting and lack of use. We have now driven the car extensively and it is one of the finest, tightest, and best performing 560SL's we have ever had.
Everything about this example is impressive. The Signal Red paint is stunning and all of the chrome gleams and is free of any scratches. Inside, the Palomino leather shows virtually no wear anywhere. There are no chips, cracks, or scratches on the wood. As expected, there are no cracks anywhere on the dash.
Generally we don't talk about a trunk. But in this car we must. It looks as if the original Perelli P6 spare tire has never been on the ground. It looks brand new with all of its original markings, and the same for the wheel it sits on. The tool role has never been out of the plastic bag that it comes from the factory in. By all indications, it has never been opened.
The engine compartment is equally as impressive, and is show quality. The convertible top is as perfect as you can expect. It is free of any scratches and does not show any signs of use. The Signal Red hardtop is in the same condition as the rest of the car.
Included with the purchase of this 560SL are:
All original books and original plastic case the books come in
Original window sticker showing an MSRP of $62,430
Original keys
Original first aid kit that appears to be unused
Two convertible top tools
Chrome covers for when the hardtop is in place-these are very hard to come by, and when we see them they generally are not in good shape, these are perfect
Hang tags for cruise control and climate control instructions
Clean Carfax
Documentation of the work we performed
We encourage perspective buyers to personally inspect this 560SL. We have over 130 photos of the car. If there is something you would like to see that we have missed, we are happy to provide it.
