This is one of the finest 560SL’s we have ever seen. Painted in beautiful Signal Red with a Cream Beige leather interior, and a black convertible top, this SL is striking.
An all-original car, this car has never had any paint work or any bodywork. Everything is untouched. This car has never been apart. So many of these cars have had paintwork or major reconditioning, this one hasn’t.
We have a full history on this car. A Florida car, it has documentation from day one. It comes complete with the original books, tools, hangtags, radio, and hardtop. It’s widely known that many of these cars were built. However very few are as original as this one and have all of the original documentation that this one has. We even have the original Window sticker for the car.
As expected, it has a clean car fax. We also have the original service book. It shows service stamps with the recommended service background. We also have a service receipt showing extensive work in the last 1,000 miles. If your looking for a 560SL that is fully documented, all original, and superior condition, this is it.
Outside, the Signal Red paint is gorgeous. Of course it shows some wear being that this is almost a 30-year-old car with 70,000 miles. However the blemishes are minor. All of the chrome is close to perfect. It’s bright and shiny with no dings to be found. The alloy wheels are original and are free of curb rash and have a beautiful finish. To the best of our knowledge, they have never been refinished. Mounted on them is a matching set of Michelin tires. All 5 tires match.
Inside the car, is like going back in time. The Cream Beige leather shows almost no wear and are still firm and supportive. They work in all positions. The wood veneer is beautiful. It typically has fading and cracks. Not in this one. Its still dark is free of any cracking. The dash has NO cracks anywhere and is perfect. All of the gauges are clear and free of any fading. As mentioned before, the original Becker radio is still in the car, the display is crystal clear and all of the buttons and controls work perfectly. We just replaced the original speaker as time has taken their toll on them. The new Kicker speakers fit into the original spaces for them and sound beautiful. Also common on these cars is fading of the AC panel controls. These look as beautiful today as they did in 1986. There is no fading and the graphics are perfect.
Driving this 560SL is a thrilling experience. It drives as beautifully as it looks. It starts right up with no hesitation. The idle is smooth are barely noticeable. The gear lever is still tight when moving from park to reverse or drive. Once in gear, the car accelerates with an abundance or power and torque. It feels surefooted and tight as only a 560SL can.
Overall this is a magnificent original 560SL with documentation to back it up. While being in incredible overall condition, it’s not new. We encourage prospective buyers to contact us for further information and to receive additional photos.
