The Mercedes-Benz 450 SL was produced from 1973 through 1980 during which time 66,298 units were produced. The 450 (4.5L) was the bigger of 2 engine options available on the “SL” which stands for “Sport Light” and first appeared in 1954 on the 300SL Gullwing. The 4.5L OHC engine is a fuel injected, 180hp, eight-cylinder with a cast iron block and aluminum heads that is capable of speeds in excess of 120 mph. Standard equipment on the 450SL included a convertible soft-top (tan), A/C, 4 wheel power disc brakes, power steering, power windows, power locks, cruise control, adjustable leather bucket seats (blue), tinted glass, fog lights, a Becker AM/FM cassette player, three speed wipers and a four speed automatic transmission. The optional red hard top is also included with this classic. This particular SL is a 3 owner car with 90,6224 original miles that has been pampered its entire life and shows incredibly well as a result. This car is 100% original and numbers matching and has been regularly serviced by a qualified Mercedes Benz mechanic.
