This stunning European delivered Sportline/AMG Cabriolet, recently completed a three-plus year refurbishment/rebuild, solely by MBNA in cooperation with Daimler AG. This rare example remains as close to original as possible today, with every system and sub-assembly repaired/replaced as-required to achieve Daimler's factory certificate of compliance. It is currently with a permanent Montana registration & remanufactured title.
Historical Note: This cabriolet is not 'grey-market'. The original owner received a temporarily exemption to bring her car into the United States in early 1997, so to care for her ailing sister near Miami Beach. Research through DOT resolved this vehicle was initially imported unfederalized as the owner was 'known individual' and that it already complied with EPA emissions, equipped with a Schweiz emission control option(62/0). It was accepted practice at the time, certain individuals were allowed to temporarily bring their vehicles into the U.S. if they simply promised to leave with it, usually in a period of time no longer than one year. Thankfully, this car stayed longer as the owner eventually received Florida title and registration. Basically, the owner was tired of being pulled over by the Dade County Sheriffs due to foreign(Swiss) plates.
The car currently records 123250 kph(or approx. 76,500 original miles).
