This 'first year' ('numbers matched') RX-7 is in exceptional, original condition. I am the third owner; the first two had it six years (55K miles). I drove it 6 years - of which it was stored winters and fair-weather-driven only - the last 25 years it has been indoor stored on blocks.
After storage, it was mechanically scrutinzed and refurbished by a Mazda tech with 30 years rotary engine experince.
He accomplished the following:
a) completely restored engine compression to factory specs,
b) replaced/refurbished the: water pump, plugs/points, all front disk brake components, rear drum shoes & resurfaced drums, replaced brake master cylinder, rebuilt brake slave cylinder, repack front bearings, overhaul clutch master/slave cylinder, flushed/refill radiator/engine/transmission/rear-end/fuel, replaced alternator and battery.
c) all efforts to factory specs - near-OEM products
d) general review and tweaking
e) all mechanics are fully operational.
Specifically have not refurbished the original paint as it is likely an element the new owner wants to address. That's why it is not priced in the $14-18K range.
Regarding the car itself - 5-speed manual transmission, A/C, cruise control, entire interior - including header lining - is black leather, black carpet, tweed seat panels, center console, folding headlights, the second owner had a multi-feature Clarion AM/FM cassette radio and 6 speaker sound system installed. Very new tires including spare.
Included with the car are the 2 original keys, owners manual & service manual, RX-7 storage cover, and black leather bra. I am flexible to coordinate/deliver car within lower 48 states.
