1951 MG TD. RHD. Excellent overall condition. Well maintained. 15,000 miles show on the odometer, however, true mileage is unknown. There is no rust on the car and she runs and drives very nicely. The engine is a factory replacement motor, with brass tag from the Morris garage (MG) attached to the side. It has the correct exhaust manifold and air cleaners. She features a fold down canvas top in very good condition, with Eisenglass side curtains and , chrome luggage rack and fog lights (need to be rewired). Tires are in great shape and the car was recently serviced at Oxford Motorcars in RI, where she has recently come out of climate controlled storage.
Unfortunately, other than the above mentioned information, not much else is known about this great little MG sports car.
The owner of the car died last year and his sister is now in the process of handling his estate. He was an eclectic chap and he loved old British cars, having owned a Jaguar and Triumph before this TD. He kept the car well maintained and enjoyed driving her. However, over the last couple of years some things changed for him and the TD went to Oxford for storage and service. We do not know for sure how long the car was owned by this owner or how many owners may have come before. We do know that it had a fender bender at one point in it's life as the front fenders show signs of work. The car was repainted and had the replacement motor rebuilt by this most recent owner, so those items are recent and it does show. This car is an awesome driver, leather seats are in excellent shape, slight patina but no tears or cracks. I would say that this diminutive sports car would very probably win at local shows however, would not take home many ribbons at a concours level show.
The asking price on this 51 MG TD is $18,500 which is negotiable.
