The MGB is a sports car that MG introduced to replace the MGA in 1962. The roadster was the first body style to be released and was a pure two seater. By making better use of space the MGB was able to offer more passenger and luggage space than the MGA while being 3 inches shorter overall. The suspension was also softer, giving a smoother ride and the larger engine gave a slightly higher top speed. Wind-up windows were standard, a parcel shelf was fitted behind the seats and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 1798cc engine rated at 95 hp that was capable of a 0–60 mph time of just over 11 seconds. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in an impact. This particular example has 102,369 original miles and was repainted in Bracken (orange) some time ago that is showing its age. The original engine purrs like a kitten now that it has been fitted with a Weber K050 single carb conversion kit. The original 38mm SU carbs and intake are included. The original 4 speed transmission was just completely rebuilt by a local transmission shop and shifts clean & crisply as you would expect. The interior is quite original with the exception of the JVC BT Stereo and Speakers. The original cockpit boot is included and still functional. The original soft top frame was just recovered with a brand new black top. Originally equipped with dual 6 volt batteries this car has been converted to a 12 volt system with a single battery. It was just tuned up, has all new fluids and filters and runs great. It is need of nothing to be safely driven but could benefit from some aesthetic enhancements. Based on its current condition we would classify this as a very strong # 3 car and would appraise it at $22,600.00 accordingly. We are serious about finding her a new home and have priced her aggressively! SOLD
