This is a fully restored frame off 1960 MGA that is a car that is registered in the North American MGA
Registry. It is in excellent condition throughout, and has history as a show winner since being restored. It has been well maintained and gently driven, and is totally solid in all aspects.
It has undergone a few customized departures from
stock, most of which are not readily apparent. The
original 1600 cc engine was replaced with a rebuilt
early 1800 5-main high compression engine, and has upgraded performance valves, seats, guides, pistons, rings, bearings, cam and crankshaft. The engine fires up readily, runs smoothly, and has exceptional oil pressure at speed and at idle. Thus far, it does not leak any oil. The transmission has
also been rebuilt, is very smooth, and has an
overdrive engaged by the stick shift. Ignition is
electronic, carbs are chromed SU's, hoses and lines
are braided stainless, and the custom radiator cools
well with an added relayed fan. Brakes are also modified with performance discs/pads, and the Minilite wheels are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza 185/65/15 tires which are in great shape.
The cockpit is beautiful, and in excellent condition.
The black leather seats are comfortable and fresh.
The steering wheel and stick are wood, and all gauges and dash components are operational. The
heater warms the interior well even in cold weather.
The body is free of rust, and was carefully painted with five coats of Dupont's Chariot Red. It is deeply reflective, and has no scratches, chips, or dings. All chrome is perfect.
The windshield, soft top, and frame are
all unblemished.
The car starts without hesitation, and the engine runs smoothly. Highway speeds are easily attained, and running the car at the throttle's sweet spot at 2,500 RPM presents 65MPH
with plenty of power still left for passing or fast lane cruising. The car
tracks perfectly, and the steering is sound and aligned. The car has never
been in an accident and handling and performance is like that of a new MGA. It is a fine example of the British sports car, and driving it is pure fun.
