....absolutely concours condition, restored, strengthened original Lotus chassis (rust and damage free), gorgeous fire engine red paint, new Minilite type alloy wheels (the best from Panasport), Conti radials, rebuilt suspension (ne wbushigns, etc.) with fully adjustable shocks and struts, adjustable ride height, allnew disc brake rotors, LOTS OF OTHER WORK, fairly new wood dash, excellent interior, rebuilt twin cam with head modified to Sprint specs (130-140hp), ported and polished, high lift cams, new twin Webers, new headers, new wiring, new top, new boot cover, new windshield.....the list continues.
New stereo/CD, electronic ignition, reduction gear starter motor, electric cooling fan, rebuilt three core radiator, new brake and clutch master cylinders, SS brake and clutch lines, every conceivable option added for both reliability and performance. And does it fly! With 130hp or more and a lot of mid range torque in a 1500 pound car, the result is brilliant acceleration coupled to Lotus' reputation for precise steering, fine handling, and sure braking.
A tiny bit stiffer than usual with new 'fast road' springs but still in a class of its own. Add the luxury touch of power windows and the result is an impressive classic sports car that is truly a delight to drive and own.
And this is probably the best single S3 Drophead we have ever had. Doesn't miss a beat...with its powerful heater and excellent weather sealing, can be driven all year 'round.
(all reasons this car is from my own collection and only being sold to make room for another recently acquired exotic)
