The design and execution of this distinctive Zephyr resulted in a comfortable ride with modern options in a car that you must see to believe. This 2011 MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association) Street Rod of the year began its transformation from a 100% original 4 Door Zephyr purchased from the daughter of the original owner. The project started in 2004 and took 6 years to complete. This is a true “Woodie” with the body hand-built with hard maple structural wood and curly maple insert panels. It was modified from four to two doors. The stock frame was substantially modified for strength and stiffness and is fitted with independent front and rear suspension assemblies with 17 rubber isolators to mount the body, a new steel floor and transmission/driveshaft tunnel was constructed, and 2 inch top chop. The roof was fabricated using two Zephyr front roof halves and welding them back to back. The rear was finished with a PT Cruiser rear hatch skinned in maple veneer. The wood on the doors and rear quarters is hand done hard maple wood panels. The sheet metal is painted with PPG black base, and entire car finished with House of Kolor UC-400 clear.
The car is powered by 2000 Ford Triton V-10 truck motor with 4R 100 transmission. Other modifications include shortening the body 14” behind rear wheels, Fat Man Mustang II with polished A-arms front suspension, Air Ride 2005 Pontiac GTO independent with air bags for the rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes, front and rear Wheelsmith 16” steel wheels with the original Zephyr hubcaps, power steering, AC, cruise, tilt, remote keyless entry, HID headlights, 2000W Kenwood system with satellite radio and Bluetooth and power control for most everything. The gauges are the original Zephyr gauges reworked by Classic Instruments with all modern electronics including GPS speed pickup. The speedo even has a custom “Lincoln Zephyr V10” script. The interior was done by Dan Weber (Alexandria MN) who is prominent in the field of custom interiors. It is tan leather with zebrawood veneer inserts and a maple floor in the back with tracks for extra seats or cargo hold down.
This one of a kind car has around 9000 miles on it since completion. In addition to the prestigious MSRA award, the Zephyr has won numerous other awards and been featured on the cover of Wheels of Thunder magazine in 2012 and the Woodie Times. Copies of these articles are available upon request.

I do marketing consignments for customers who don't have time to set up ads for their vehicle or don't use the internet. I charge a flat fee up front and do not collect any consignment fees when the vehicle sells. I am not a dealer. The vehicle remains in the owner's possession. I handle inquiries. When the potential buyer becomes serious, I put them in touch with the owner who can answer specific questions about the vehicle.
