The K & KB series were trucks produced by International Harvester starting in 1940. The KB was first introduced in 1947 and the entire line was replaced in 1950 making 1949 its last year. They were best known for their prewar design in a post war era as well as their durability. This particular example is a full Rat Rod that retains its original cab, bed and frame. The Cab was chopped 3”, the box was shortened 2’ and the frame was reinforced with a “Z” design. It’s powered by a performance built 454ci V8 that is fed via a 850cfm Holley 4 bbl carb that sits atop a chrome Edelbrock Performer intake, the spark is handled by a MSD ignition and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its 3” performance exhaust. It also has a chrome 1-wire alternator, a dual fan aluminum radiator and power steering. It has a performance built T400 tranny that puts the power to the Winters quick change rear-end effortlessly. The front axle was moved forward 18” and is fitted with disc brakes, shocks and fenders. The 8 lug rear end sports 15X10 2 piece rims with Hoosier 27X11.5-15LT Quick Time Pro tires, Wildwood disc brakes and a coil over suspension. It has a cool interior with a custom built center console supporting the Hurst ratchet shifter and a solid disc steering wheel. It has all of the essential gauges, a horn, blinkers, high beams and even a custom cup holder. It’s estimated that the 454 is putting out about 450hp making this an absolute blast to drive. Close to 20k was spent on parts to build the sweet rat rod which does not account for the original cost of the truck or the thousands of hours that went into building it. Our price just covers the cost of parts so if you like what you see don’t wait until it’s gone to call! SOLD
