The VICTORIA was Ford's mid-1951 model year offering in a 2-door hardtop by adding a top to their convertible. Hence the term "Hardtop Convertible" was used to describe these cars with no center B pillar door post.
BACKGROUND HISTORY: The car is stock Original. It was purchased new in Fort Worth, Texas in 1951. When it was one year old in 1952, it was bought by a high school student who kept the car his entire life. When he died I bought it from the family two years ago. I have every registration slip from 1952 through 1965. In the photos you can see what is included with the car, such as 2 Shop Manuals, 1 original and 1 reprint; wipers, sun visors, trim and badging, 1951 Texas license plates, other assorted pieces and a new set of Fender Skirts (not shown in photos). There is also an original color photograph of this car parked along a roadside in 1962.
The car is clean and straight. There is no rust, no patches and no bondo. All the original factory body seams are intact and visible. The previous owner painted directly over the original paint almost 50 years ago. The lacquer paint due to age, Texas dry heat and the properties of old lacquer paint has begun to flake off and checker. You can see what is under the paint where it has flaked off and it is the original lighter color factory paint and steel. The steel dashboard is also flaking for the same reasons. Anyone who knows cars can readily see this and its advantages over a recent paint job that may be covering up something. This is the perfect car for someone who wants to repaint it or use it as it is. The interior is excellent, no rips or tears.
Since I have owned the car I have re-cored the radiator so it is like new, no leaks. New battery, new generator, new voltage regulator, new water pumps, new fuel tank, rebuilt the automatic transmission, rebuilt the carburetor and more. Car starts and drives and shifts normally. All lights work, including the backup light. I have receipts.
NOTE: The last four photos show examples of other cars of the same model to illustrate the color combination.
