For sale is my 1970 Ford Torino GT, 2 door Hardtop Sportroof model, Vermilion Red with ORIGINAL Laser stripe with Hurst 4 Speed, M-code 351 Cleveland with factory modified heads, Ram Air system w/Shaker Hood, front spoiler, Rear window ORIGINAL metal slats, Bucket seats, Ginger color interior, rear adjustable air shocks, 69,000 miles on odometer. Has a clean title.
The car although outside from the wheels up is beautiful the frame/underbody has issues, so selling as a project car or for parts, here are the details:
I bought this car 15 years ago from a guy who just purchased it at a Mecum Auction, I am not very mechanically inclined so evidently did not realize that the frame/underbody had some rotting as it was completely undercoated, after 15 years of enjoying the car and keeping it garaged (has never seen rain since I have owned it) driving home from a show the power steering bracket ripped out of the frame. Taking it to Local mechanic a truck dropped a stone and went through the radiator about half way up so the pin hole will need to be fixed, the mechanic said the frame has rot/rust, so the car looks great but needs extensive help on the unibody or a donor underbody or? It runs and drives but IT WILL NEED WORK.
The runs and drives right now but no power steering and the radiator is half full and needs to be fixed I keep the pressure cap loose
The good:
Vermilion Red paint in excellent high gloss condition
New Magnum 500 wheels
New front and rear bumpers
Interior very nice rear seat and passenger bucket seat excellent
Hurst 4-speed floor shifter
Rear window ORIGINAL metal slats
ORIGINAL Laser stripe (been to many car shows and have not seen another original stripe)
Steering column mounted new vintage looking tachometer
Engine compartment very clean
Flat black hood with shaker hood
New Holley 650 double pumper Carburetor (original Motorcraft Carburetor was not performing the way I wanted, it will be included with the car)
Newer Flowmaster mufflers and exhaust
Trunk pan solid, has original spare but worn
This car has been a multiple car show trophy winner
The bad:
There are a few bubbles in the paint down by the rockers
rip on a seam on drivers bucket seat
Radiator pin hole needs to be fixed and power steering bracket needs to be fixed/remounted/welded?
The big one: Underbody/frame rot
I am asking $18,500 half of what the car would be in great condition or totally restored
