Ready to put some ultra-rare FoMoCo sheet metal in your garage? Taker a closer look at this restored R-Code 1969 Ford Torino Cobra. One of just 17 Formal Roof Cobra's to leave the factory wearing Ford #3120-A Meadowlark Yellow, the car shows as new with laser straight body panels and exceptional fit and finish. This sleeper hints at it's monstrous power plant through a functional hood scoop and Cobra badges found on the front fender. The rest of the car is pure Torino. The vinyl top looks great as does the stainless trim and glass. Under the hood, the original Super Cobra Jet remains in place, wearing a correct casting number and 9K108609 partial VIN. Conservatively rated at 335HP, the engine utilized a strengthened medium block, heavy duty connecting rods, a nodular iron crank shaft and larger valves and ports to produce gobs of torque. Backed by a Top Loader 4 Speed manual transmission and a 9 inch Traction-Loc differential that's been updated with 3.25 gears, the car is plenty quick off the line. The drive train is backed by a stock suspension featuring A-arms up front and leaf springs with staggered shocks out back. Turns are helped by a freshly rebuilt power steering system that utilizes a GM style power steering pump while braking is power assisted with disc brakes up front and drums at the rear. Between the doors, a nicely restored black vinyl interior features bench seats, fresh carpet, a new head liner and stock dash. A deluxe rim-blow steering wheel and walnut-handled shift knob add some style to the package.
