Purchased new in 1968 at 'Shearer Motor Company' of Salida, Colorado and always obviously garaged, loved and babied for it's entire life!
The car boasts a copy of its original 'Retail Buyer's Order' from the 'Shearer Motor Company' dated 4/20/1968 showing its original factory options of: 302 V8 engine, Select Shift transmission, Power steering, Tinted glass, Left hand remote mirror, Visibility group, Radio, Delux belts, Air conditioning, Bucket seats and center console and undercoating and sold for a sales price of $3,827.59 with a trade in of the owners 1959 Plymouth Fury!
The car also has its original dealer stamped owners manual and warranty booklet and an original specification and optional equipment letter from the Ford Motor Company dated 10/25/2011 which the second owner requested upon purchasing the car from the original owner's estate in 9/2011 following his death at 88 years of age in 2009. It shows the cars original specifications of 'Meadowlark Yellow' paint with a black stripe (which the car still boasts), Nugget Gold Interior trim (which the car also still boasts!), Vinyl interior trim, C4 automatic transmission, Visibility Group, F70x145" white side wall tires, Console, Power steering, 'Select Aire' air conditioner, AM radio, Tinted glass, Deluxe seatbelts and the district office was Denver. The car also has a Marti Report confirming its originality. The car also has its original 'Protecto-plate' and 'Temporary Ownercard'!
The car has it's original 302 V8 engine with only 49K original miles and the car has its original paint and obviously has therefore never been damaged. Apparently the car was only ever used for business trips and always garaged. The car was serviced and cared for exclusively by its original owner since new and was only ever serviced by a shop once, for an air conditioning service for which he did not have the equipment, in 7/1987 and the bill for that service will be sold with the car!
It has an absolutely stunningly original example and is a text book example of an all original survivor car and was surely cherished ever since new. The car starts, runs and drives as when new! The original 'Meadowlark Yellow' paint is still in quite exceptional condition and still shines beautifully and shows only very minor wear for its age. The interior is also quite exceptional with only the drivers door armrest showing any real signs of wear and which we decided to leave original without covering any of the cars extremely rare originality. The car's original spare wheel and jack are also still in the trunk as seen in the photos below.
This particular car must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - the engine is extremely strong and responsive with excellent oil pressure and no leaks, the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool.
This must be one of the nicest rust free and all original examples available anywhere of this increasingly collectible and desirable all American classic car, a 1968 Ford Torino GT with its original 302 V8 engine with only 49K original miles in all original condition throughout and in turn-key ready daily driving, daily head-turning, and daily appreciating condition!
