Up for sale in our Louisville Showroom is one of the most iconic classic cars to ever hit the road, the 1955 Ford Thunderbird. One of the most beautiful pieces of Americana, they were considered to be direct competition to the Chevrolet Corvette. Helping spawn a new generation of automobiles in the United States, and aimed to take on the European market, the Ford Thunderbird was powered by a 292 CID V8, which gave the already smaller, lighter car the power it needed to make for both an excellent road racer as well as the perfect car for older couples to sit back and enjoy a movie at the drive-in. Mated to the engine is a 2-speed automatic transmission, which allowed the car for fairly smooth shifting, but in the higher gear allowed the vehicle to cruise at highway speeds without drinking too much gas. The interior of this car is a beautiful red and white two tone seating, with red carpets throughout. The hard-top is painted in white to give the car a two-tone look. Take the top off to enjoy the beautiful weather in absolute style! The exterior is painted to match the interior, with a stunning bright red paint job with a white top that really gives the car a high quality 1950's kind of feel. Driving a 1955 Ford Thunderbird is truly an experience one simply cannot explain, these cars are the truest form of Americana one can find. Options include AM Radio with a CD player, Hardtop Convertible, Wire Wheel Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior and Wide White Walls tires, Wire Wheels.
