This is a very nice 1956 Ford Thunderbird. I bought this for my mom 2 years ago but she can no longer drive it. In 2013 I put new B.F. Goodrich wide white wall tires on it, had the radiator boiled out, new battery, new wires plugs points condenser and rotor. I bought a new, smaller steering wheel as the original one was so large neither my mom nor I could see over it. We had to look between it and the dash to see where we were going. Interestingly, the new one made turning much, much easier. It is black, I didn't have it painted. I still have the original red one if you prefer it (and you're tall enough to see over it). The seats were re-upholstered before I bought it and they still look new. Carpets are in good shape as are the floor mats. The glass is all good, no scratches or cracks. There is no convertible top, just the removable hardtop. It does come on and off easily, but you need two people to do it. All of the gauges work, as does the clock and the radio. Heater works really well. All of the emblems, decals, etc are in place. The previous owners had the engine re-built in June 2012. They also had the automatic transmission re-built in December 2011. This car runs great, actually it flies! I'm surprised one of us hasn't received a speeding ticket. I used it as my daily driver for awhile last fall and it always started right up on the first try. If it sits for awhile it might take 3 tries to start it. I have been told the frame is solid. I do not see any rust, except where the chrome is flaking off of the back bumper. I have always kept it in the garage and so did the previous owners. The car does need to be painted and the back bumper needs to be rechromed. That's about all I can think of. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
I live just outside of Springfield, IL.
