You are viewing a very special unrestored original 1956 Thunderbird survivor. It has 48K documented miles and is a 2 owner California car. It was sold new at Lutz Ford Sales in Palo Alto Ca. as verified with the original Ford dealer invoice and the original Lutz dealer license plate frame that is still present. It has always been garage kept, serviced and maintained, but never restored making this a very rare bird indeed. The factory original colonial white paint looks amazing for it's age while the body is all original sheet metal and rust free. Undercarriage is dry and also rust free, never undercoated, spray canned or jacked with. The chrome and bright work are also original and exceptional being very bright with no pitting. Original glass is nice and clear. Interior is factory original except the seat cover which has been replaced with a correct reproduction with embossed Ford emblem. Power windows, power seats, and gauges all work correctly. Mechanically this Thunderbird runs and drives as it should. I have complete folder dating back to 1975, when the second owner purchased the car, documenting repairs and maintenance since that time. Some highlights include a complete original engine overhaul (900 miles ago) and a complete lifetime stainless steel exhaust installation. The 4 original factory installed Firestone gum-dipped tires will also included...these have NEVER been correctly reproduced and are impossible to find. It is also the only car I have seen that came invoiced with the optional wire wheel covers, they are like new originals and also included.
