Up for sale is this beautiful original condition 1960 Thunderbird 2 Door Hardtop. The first owner, from up North, towed a boat with it. The 2nd owner was a Service Member who had high hopes to do a mini restoration on this t-bird but was deployed out of Albuquerque, NM. and was forced to sell. I am the 3rd owner, who has owned it for about 8.5 years. Since I have owned it, it has been lightly driven, only for car shows or Sunday drives. Although there is a bunch to say about this car, I am trying to be as transparent and to the point as I can. It is a true beautiful survivor!

Some of the highlights:
- A little shy of 51K Original Miles.
- Original Black Factory Paint, in fair condition.
- Original Red Factory leather Seats, front driver in poor condition (tear at entry/exit seem), front passenger in good condition (no rips/tears), rear bench seat in excellent condition (obviously no babies made in the back seat).
- Minor dings, scratches, chips, etc.
- Original FoMoCo factory installed hitch. The original owner towed a boat with it.
- Power Steering, working.
- Power Breaks, working.
- Power windows (all 4), working.
- Power driver seat, working.
- Original factory radio, working.
- Drives and runs very well. Electrical good.
- Tread on current (non-original) tires 95%. Original/Factory white wall spare in trunk.
- Just had new coil and electronic pick up installed. (original points were finally done)
- Brand new battery.
- No cracked or dinged glass. (although missing some hardware from passenger vent window)
- No cancerous rust, very-very little surface rust. It has lived in the dry desert for quite a while now.
- We have the original rear wheel skirts as well. In great shape.
Some of the "true survivor" battle scars:
- As mentioned above, the drivers seat upholstery will need repair/patching/replacement.
- The rear panel behind the bench seat, while intact, is quite faded.
- The trim/door vein lace and headliner will need replacement and/or attention.
- Window/Door Rubber is original and 62 years old. While still present, new rubber would be suggested.
- Paint/Body is not perfect, but pretty good for 62 years old, it cleans up nice and would (and has) show nice with a good wash/wax, but for pristine show car, minor-minor body work and a repaint is in order.
- It is a factory AC/Heat car. However, the AC engine components have been removed (interior panel present and functional, with a cracked glass cover) and since I have owned it, I have not touched nor investigated the AC system. However, this great T-Bird comes with a BUNCH of spare parts and extras and to my recollection, I do remember there being a decent amount of AC parts in the extras that come with the car. Most likely the removed components from this car itself.
- The wiper motor has been taken out, we still have it, but the pneumatics in it would need attention or a new electric motor installed.
- The trunk lining is for all practical purposes gone. It has been since I have owned it.
As mentioned above this car comes with a BUNCH of spare parts, including an almost complete set of newly chromed old stock bumpers, bullets, emblems, etc. still wrapped in bubble wrap. It was never my intent to restore this T-Bird as it was a great driver and I loved being one of the few at a car show that had a TRUE survivor that drove herself into the show on her own 4 tires, but these extra parts and new chromed parts came with her when I bought her 8.5 years ago and will stay with her when she finds her new home.
I would keep her, in a heartbeat, but she deserves a little more attention and my focus has been shifted to garage space and work on my '71 Mustang and my Husbands '67 Camaro. This beautiful girl needs to be out on the road!
Need to see her and drive her to appreciate. She screams classy! $21500.00 OBO, can send additional specific photos as requested. Serious inquires only, please. Delivery within an acceptable range for an additional fee is possible.
Thanks for looking!
