The 10th generation Thunderbird was a personal luxury car produced by Ford from 1989 through 1997. The 10th gen models featured a more aerodynamic body that was slightly shorter in overall length than its predecessor but still boasted a wheelbase that was 9 inches longer. Features include four-wheel independent suspension which makes for an excellent ride quality. This set up was significant as it made the Thunderbird and its counterparts (the Mark VIII and the Cougar) the only rear drive domestics cars in N America other than the Corvette. Equipped with a 3.8L V6 mated to a 4R70W 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The Thunderbird received an extensive mid-cycle refresh for 1994 with revisions to powertrain, exterior appearance, addition of safety features and a total redesign of its interior. The front fascia saw substantial styling changes with larger air intakes in the bumper cover, new headlamps and a more curvaceous hood. The interior was completely redesigned to accommodate dual front airbags and to optimize driver comfort and convenience. It featured wrap-around cockpit style instrumentation with a new steering wheel, radio and climate controls and sweeping curves on the door panels and dashboard surfaces. This particular example is a 2 owner beauty that the current owner purchased in 2000 with 19,754 miles. This vehicle has been a Sunday driver since that lived its life under a cover since 2000. The cloth seats were covered with fitted seat covers to keep them looking like new, there are a second set of floor mats to sit atop the factory originals as well as a fitted car cover that is included as well. There are a few small blemishes on the paint but the car is shows incredibly, is 100% original and has just 34,808 miles.
